Helpful ways on how to install PVC skirtboard

 The 8” Stealth Skirtboard was designed and developed to provide the builder/contractor the minimum 6” clearance requirement to the finished grade on the exterior of the building when installing any fiber cement or wood composite siding. 

Installation 

• Before installing your Stealth Skirtboard, be sure the walls of the house are properly prepared to accept it.
  
• They should be true and plumb and covered with some brand of house wrap.
  
• Flash around the base of the wall 10½” up from the sill plate using roofing felt, rubber, or trim coil (aluminum/vinyl). 
  
• Fasten the Stealth Skirtboard the same way you would a Trimboard. Since the Skirtboard is installed so close to grade and prone to exposure to moisture stainless steel fasteners designed for wood trim or siding are preferred.
  
• Fasteners with thin shanks, blunt points, an full round heads are recommended.
  
• The fastener must be long enough to penetrate the substrate a minimum of 1½”. 
  
• Place nails a maximum of 16” on center. 
  
• Install the siding above the Stealth Skirtboard in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation guidelines.
